Earth Day
April 22 - Earth Day. On Earth Day, we should learn to be more responsible for the planet we live on, to try to make a few minor gestures, which, over time, can lead to significant changes. Some examples:
- Giving up the personal car. If we try public transport or bicycles, we may save time and we will certainly pollute less.
- Recycle. Metal, glass and plastic containers can be taken to specially designed bins in cities. If you don't have something like this nearby, ask the town hall, take an interest and you will find out that you can get rid of electronic waste at no cost, without throwing it in the trash.
- Respect for nature, awareness that it is not our private property. If you go out for a barbecue or a tent, make sure you respect the environment and affect it as little as possible. If there is no trash in the forest, we can take the trash with us, we will NOT leave it there ...
- Plant a tree.
- Stop food waste. Some families throw away a significant portion of the food they buy, and others have nothing to put on the table. Buy less, just as much as you need!
- Saving electricity. Appliances can be switched off when not in use. The bulbs can be turned off when we sleep or when we are not at home.
- Water saving. Showers can be shorter, and water can be turned off when we wash dishes or brush our teeth.
- Saving thermal energy - can be done by insulating the house, turning off the radiators or reducing the temperature, especially when we are not at home. We have a moral duty to keep the planet clean for future generations, to conserve nature, to stop or reduce the waste of matter and energy. Together we can do wonderful things, including laws that work for the benefit of the environment.
